ATLANTA - Piedmont women's soccer forward
Paige Kluba has been named CCS Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
The junior from Cumming, Georgia enjoyed a breakout offensive week for the Lions, helping the team to a pair of conference victories to move to 3-0 in the CCS so far this season.
Â
In Tuesday night's 3-0 win at Agnes Scott, Kluba played a role in all three of Piedmont's goals, assisting on the first two before putting an exclamation mark on the game by scoring the team's third and final goal.
Then, in Piedmont's 3-1 home win over Huntingdon Friday night, Kluba evaded multiple defenders before firing a rocket to the top corner of the net to get the scoring started against the Hawks.
Â
This marks Kluba's first career CCS weekly award and she is the fifth different Lion to earn weekly honors this season, although she is the first to earn Offensive Player of the Week.
Up next, the Lions will welcome Belhaven for a pivotal CCS contest in Demorest. Kickoff is scheduled for Wednesday, October 9 at 3 p.m.
