GREENVILLE, S.C. - In a step outside conference play, the Piedmont University volleyball team was unable to find success in a 3-0 loss at Bob Jones Wednesday. The Bruins swept the pair of matchups against the Lions this season, winning in straight sets in both meetings. 

Piedmont fell behind 22-12 in the opening set but did not concede at that point, rallying back to score five straight and including forcing a BJU timeout. The Bruins took the opening set, but Piedmont challenged in the second as it was a 19-18 lead for the Bruins late. 

Bob Jones would take the final set for the match as they totaled 35 kills to Piedmont's 31 in a tightly contested battle. 

Up next, Piedmont will host Belhaven and Maryville in CCS tri-match action on Saturday inside Cave Arena. 

TURNING POINT:
--Bob Jones took the match in three sets but Piedmont was within striking distance in all three. 

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--Vanessa Manzo accounted for all 31 of Piedmont's assists in the three-setter.
