Season Preview: Women's Swimming

Repeating the success of the 22-23 season, Piedmont went back-to-back at the Independent South Swimming Conference Championship. Taking home the title for the second year in a row, the Lions rallied to hold off Southern Virginia and now have the opportunity to go for the three-peat.

Women's Swim 2024
  • Piedmont opens the 2024-25 season at home, taking on Columbia College on Friday, October 11.
  • Piedmont will have a home meet in both the fall and spring.
  • The Lions will compete four times in the fall and four times in the spring.
  • Once again, the season will end with the Independent South Swimming Conference Championship starting on February 13.
2024-25 Schedule
Madison Nance 2024
  • Piedmont claimed the 2024 Independent South Swimming Conference title, going back-to-back.
    • The Lions held just a one-point lead heading into the final day, ultimately winning by a narrow 13-point margin.
  • 12 swimmers earned All-Conference honors for their performance at the meet.
  • On the academic side, Olivia Bechtel and Madison Nance earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the second time in their careers while Maggie Bishop and Tressie Polk earned the honor for the first time.
  • Head Coach Teddy Guyer was named Coach of the Year for the third year in a row.
    • Coach Guyer picked up his 400th career win during the 2023-24 campaign.

Teddy Guyer
  • Piedmont returns 10 of 12 All-Conference swimmers from last season, putting them in prime position for a third title.
  • Standout Kelly Mashburn returns for her sophomore year while Maggie Bishop, Olivia Bechtel, Caroline Massaro and Madison Nance bring the veteran experience.
  • The women's program welcomes one new face to the team.
2024-25 Women's Roster
  • Teddy Guyer is entering his fifth year at Piedmont as the Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach.
  • In his four years at Piedmont, Guyer has founded both programs which have seen 65 all-conference swimmers, 4 Women's Swimming CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024), claimed an Independent South Swimming Conference title and been named Independent South Swimming Conference Coach of the Year twice.
