CLEMSON, S.C. - The team had a rainy start to the long day of criterium racing ahead on Saturday. BEN KOLBIE, MARIAJOSE MONTOYA, and HANNAH KUNZE all raced through the storm. Kolbie placed 4th in men's B. Montoya placed 5th in women's B.
Once the storm passed PRESTON EYE, DYLAN LINDSEY, and SAM RIDEOUT got on the start line for their men's A race. Averaging almost 28 mph for one hour Eye came out on top. Eye placed 1st beating the top riders in the conference and the national champion from the previous year.
ELIZABETH HARDEN, KATIE PROWELL, RHYLEE WITTROCK, and EMMA FROST all competed in the women's A race. Harden finished 5th and Prowell finished 9th. Outstanding finish for Prowell in just her first season of road racing.
Later in the day, Frost, Prowell, Wittrock, and Harden competed in the women's team time trial, coming in 4th.
The weather on Sunday started out much better. The morning brought sunny skies and our women's A riders started the road race first. With one large hill, the race proved to be challenging. Wittrock finished 9th and Frost finished just behind in 10th. Montoya finished 2nd in the women's B.
