ATLANTA, Ga. - The Piedmont University baseball team earned a 7-1 victory on the road Tuesday at Oglethorpe behind a fantastic pitching performance by
ADAM METIVIER.
Metivier pitched six innings without allowing a run and stuck out six batters. The bullpen also held the Stormy Petrels scoreless until the ninth inning.
CARTER BALLSTADT was the stand-out offensively with a pair of home runs in the fifth and seventh innings.
In the seventh, the Lions went back-to-back to start the inning as Kolton Hick belted a solo shot and Ballstadt scorched his second of the day in the next at bat.
Piedmont 1-2-3 hitters all had two hits each accouting for six of Piedmont's eight hits.
The Lions will be on the road for a series at Covenant beginning Thursday.
TURNING POINT:
--Piedmont was able to score early and often with runs in five different innings.
