DEMOREST, Ga. - Piedmont Cycling hosted the Piedmont University Cycling Classic right here in Habersham County. Starting early on Saturday Morning the cold and wind did not fail to make an appearance. Despite the harsh weather, the race went exceptionally well! Piedmont University's new president and his wife came to support the race and meet the team!

The Road Race started at 8 am when BEN KOLBIE took off with Men C and pushed through the fridged temps into 3rd place. Shortly after, Women's A took on the course. EMMA FROST and ELIZABETH HARDEN were just short of the podium; however, RHYLEE WITTROCK sprinted through the field to take home a 3rd place finish. The day began to warm up as Women B/C took on the course. KATIE PROWELL raced Women's B and fought for a 2nd place finish. Majo Montoya and Hannah Knuze took place 1 and 2 in the Women's C Road Race.

Next up on Saturday was Team Time Trial where 2 teams from Piedmont competed. EMMA FROST, RHYLEE WITTROCK, ELIZABETH HARDEN, and KATIE PROWELL made up the women's team and placed 2nd place in the women's team time trial. The men's team consisted of DYLAN LINDSEY, PRESTON EYE, SAM RIDEOUT, and BEN KOLBIE and they secured a 5th place finish.

The next day was dedicated to the criterium. The morning started with Women's B/C where KATIE PROWELL took another 2nd place finish in Women's B. Majo Montoya and Hannah Knuze took 2nd and 3rd place respectively in women's C. Then BEN KOLBIE took off with the men's C race and was able to take the win for the criterium. BEN KOLBIE also competed in the men's 4/5 race getting 3rd for Cat 4. Women's A was next up to the start line where ELIZABETH HARDEN fought for a 4th place finish. DYLAN LINDSEY and PRESTON EYE fought hard in 2 separate races on Sunday.
