BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Piedmont men's lacrosse team suffered its first defeat of 2023 with a 19-2 loss at Birminghan-Southern on Saturday afternoon,
The Panthers jumped on the Lions early, scoring six times in the first quarter and four more times in the second quarter to lead by 10 at the break.
BSC's defense was stifling as well, holding the Lions off the scoreboard until a pair of
BRADY MCGUIRE goals in the fourth quarter.
Three Panthers recorded hat tricks led by four goals from Austin Johnson and three each from Cameron Herd and Reid Harrison.
The shot count was dominated by BSC as well, holding Piedmont to just 25 while taking 51. Goalkeeper
JOHNNY MATRONA made 13 saves in the loss for the Lions.
Up next, the Lions will remain on the road, heading to Kentucky to battle Spalding next Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m.
