SEASON RECAP: 2023 Men's Soccer

• The Piedmont University men’s soccer team finished the fall 2023 campaign with a 6-9-3 overall record and a 3-3 record in their second season in the CCS.
• The team ended the regular season on a high note, with a last minute, come from behind victory over Belhaven at home to spoil the Blazers' regular season title hopes.
• Piedmont started the season hot, winning their first two contests but struggled to maintain consistent form in 2023.
• Freshman Davis Knight was named CCS Rookie of the Year after leading the conference in goals scored (11) and total points (26).

• The Piedmont men's soccer team went 3-3 in CCS regular season play with wins over Belhaven, Berea and Huntingdon.
• The Piedmont offense played a crucial role in the wins, scoring 16 goals across the three games.
• Sophomore Colin Vogel and freshman Davis Knight scored six of the 16 goals while junior Jason Aussin added two.
• The 2023 Lions scored the 5th most goals as a team in the NCAA Era, tying the 2009 Lions team at 49 goals.

• In the final regular season home competition of the seas on, Piedmont stunned the Belhaven Blazers with a late comeback win to rob them of the 2023 CCS Regular Season Championship.
• Trialing 0-2 midway through the second half, Piedmont went on to score three goals and take the win.
• Sophomore Colin Vogel connected with freshman Delroy Mattis in the 88th minute for the game-winning goal.

Piedmont saw Davis Knight win CCS Rookie of the Year while Knight and Colin Vogel claimed first team all-conference honors for the 2023 season.

Piedmont men's soccer saw two student-athletes earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Honors.
