DEMOREST, Ga. - After trailing by 14 early in the second half, the Piedmont University men's basketball team used an impressive second half to earn a comeback victory 87-81 over Greensboro College. Piedmont outscored the Pride 52-38 in the second half thanks to several bursts of offense.
Piedmont led 20-16 with 11:53 on the clock in the first half, but the Pride used a late push in the first to claim a 43-35 lead at the break. Piedmont trailed by as many as 10 in the first half and as many as 14 with 16:43 on the clock in the second half.
A 9-0 run cut it to a five point deficit for Piedmont at 55-50, but Greensboro broke the stretch and kept pace. At 59-53 with under 13:00 to play, Piedmont began a 23-4 run over an 8:30 period of game action to claim a 76-63 lead.
DEVIN DEAN gave Piedmont the lead with 9:41 on the clock with a layup to put the Lions ahead 60-59. Dean finished the contest with 14 points and eight rebounds, both career-highs as a Lion for the transfer.
The Pride continued to battle down the stretch but the Lions were able to hold them off and earn the victory to move to .500 on the season.
Up next, Piedmont will head to Huntingdon for its second CCS road trip of the season. Piedmont faces the Hawks on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
TURNING POINT:
--A 23-4 run for the Lions proved to be the difference as the Pride were held scoreless from the field for over five minutes.

RYAN JOLLY and
WILL RICHTER led the team with 19 points each with Richter contributing four 3-pointers.

NOAH REARDON added 18 points off the bench and four key rebounds.
