Men's Basketball Earns First CCS Victory 81-52 Over Huntingdon

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Piedmont University men's basketball team cruised to a victory Friday evening at Huntingdon with an 81-52 win over the Hawks. The win marked the first conference win of the season for Piedmont and its first CCS victory in league history. 

Piedmont trailed by as many as four early in the contest but took a lead with 9:36 to go in the first half and never looked back. 

NOAH REARDON was explosive in the first half for Piedmont as he scored 15 of Piedmont's 37 points. The Lions held a 37-30 lead at the break, but in the second half, Piedmont left no question. 

The Hawks pulled to within five in the opening minutes of the half, but the Lions were able to use a 13-1 run to build a 20 point lead with 11:39 to play. 

Piedmont led by as many as 31 in the contest and held the Hawks to just 22 points in the second half, outscoring them 44-22. 

DEVIN DEAN continued his hot streak with 15 points for Piedmont as he has posted double figures in the last four games. 

Dean also added six rebounds and HUNTER NORMAN contributed six boards as well marking a career-high while at Piedmont. 

Up next, Piedmont heads to Bob Jones on Monday for an afternoon showdown at 3 p.m.

TURNING POINT:
--A 13-1 run in the second half gave Piedmont a 20 point lead with 11:39 remaining and that was the start of a strong second half that propelled the Lions to victory. 

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--Both RYAN JOLLY and NOAH REARDON contributed 19 points with Reardon's coming off the bench. 
--This marked Reardon's second straight game with 18 or more points.

NEWS AND NOTES:
--Piedmont has won four of the last five against Huntingdon.
