MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Piedmont men's tennis team ended the fall schedule with a strong showing at the Pfeiffer Invitational claiming 20 total matches.

The Lions faced host Pfeiffer along with Guilford, Randolph and Johnson & Wales (N.C.). Piedmont totaled 14 wins in singles while adding six wins in doubles matches. 

Piedmont swept Johnson & Wales (N.C.) claiming six singles victories and a pair of wins in doubles while also going 2-0 against Randolph in singles. 

Several Lions were 2-0 in singles play Saturday including BRYCE VANORDER who rolled to a 6-2, 6-2 win over Samuel Wilder (J&W) and defeated Andrew Valdez-Arze from Pfeiffer 7-5, 6-3.

Newcomer AUSTYN ADDERLY posted a pair of wins over Johnson & Wales opponents while JC FOSTER claimed a 6-4, 6-1 win (Jason Giesbrecht, Pfeiffer) and a 6-0, 6-4 win (Mikael Aune, Pfeiffer).

LEO GALARZA also posted a 2-0 record in singles with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Wilder Noyes (J&W) and a three-set thriller 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 over Cooper Bean (Guilford).

Galarza and CONNOR PHELPS were the lone Lions to claim wins over Guilford at the Pfeiffer Invitational. 

Doubles play saw Piedmont claim three of four matches against Pfeiffer as VanOrder and KODY DILLS won 8-6, SILAS SANDLES and MIKE PORCELLI won 8-3 and Adderly and Galarza posted an 8-6 win.

Piedmont went 6-4 in doubles competition while dropping just four of 18 singles lines.
