MOUNT BERRY - The Piedmont Lions men's soccer team dropped their final non-conference road test to the Berry College Vikings 5-0 on Tuesday night.
From the opening whistle, the Lions found themselves under pressure. An early red card in the 17th minute put Piedmont down a man and added even more pressure to the back line.
The squad did their best to hang on, but the Vikings finally broke through with a goal from Nate Dulin in the 31st minute to make it 1-0. Berry would strike again just before half to make it 2-0.
The Vikings picked up right where they left off coming out of half time and would see Bear Crystal score in the 48th minute.
Berry continued to dominate the contest and the score line finished 5-0 in their favor.
Up next, the Lions return home to take on William Peace University on Saturday, Sept. 24. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at the WAC.
