DEMOREST, Ga. - In a tightly contested contest, Piedmont and Pfeiffer found themselves tied after 90 minutes.
The contest saw a total of 37 shots between the two squads, with Piedmont launching 18 and the Falcons launching 19.Â
Pfeiffer came out hot, boasting the majority of the offense in the first half and scoring the only goal of the half off a penalty kick in the 32nd minute. Nigel Johnson buried the penalty into the bottom right corner to make it 1-0.Â
The Lions flipped the script coming out of halftime. After being out shot 12-4 in the first half, they would finish the second half doubling the Falcons shots, 14-7.
The breakthrough for the Lions finally came in the 78th minute when Senior Forward Jared Scott was dragged down in the box, awarding his squad a penalty kick. Sophomore Forward
JASON AUSSINÂ slotted the opportunity bottom right to level the scoreline 1-1.Â
Both teams would have opportunities in the closing minutes but neither would be able to convert and the scoreline would finish in a draw.
Up next, Piedmont travels to Berry College on Sept. 20 to take on the Vikings. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
