DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont men's soccer team battled hard against the Pride of Greensboro College but ultimately fell short in an intense game.

The first half of play saw back and forth action, with both offenses finding their rhythm early.

Senior
JARED GRAGE got the scoring started in the 7th minute with his first career goal as Piedmont jumped out to an early 1-0 lead.

The Lions doubled down on their lead in the 26
th minute as Freshman
COLIN VOGEL put away a second on an assist from
JASON AUSSIN.Â

However, the lead would be short lived as Greensboro responded in the 27
th and 32
nd minute with goals from Parker Spesock and Collin Thomas to level the score line 2-2. The Pride continued the pressure for the remainder of the half but would not find the back of the net again.Â

Greensboro picked up right where it left off in the first half and continued to find success. In the 66
th minute, they secured their first lead of the contest when Juan Ramirez added his first of the game.

The Pride solidified their win with a late goal in the 84
th minute from Jordan Shutt. The Lions would battle all the way till the end but would not find the back of the net in the second half.

Up next, Piedmont will take on Bob Jones University at the WAC on Thursday, Sept 15. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.Â
