FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - On Saturday afternoon, the Piedmont women's lacrosse team dropped a 21-4 contest at Methodist University in North Carolina. Methodist quickly took control during the first period leaving Piedmont little room to regain control of the contest.

In the first quarter, Methodist out-shot Piedmont 3-0 in the first 6 minutes before MERRYN BUMPASS scored the first goal for the Lions. However, the Monarch's answered right back less than a minute later with two more goals to increase their lead. With just a minute left in the quarter, Piedmont finished the first with a free position goal by CARA CRUMP to put Piedmont on the board again making it 6-2 heading into the second quarter.

The Monarchs continued to lead the contest 13-2 at the half after the Lions remained at a standstill during the second quarter.

Following halftime, the Monarch's continued their scoring run until MERRYN BUMPASS seized control, scoring her second goal of the game.

The Monarchs maintained a 16-3 lead before Piedmont's MAGGI SPRATLIN notched her first goal of the game. Unable to keep up, the Monarchs continued to dominate and keep the Lions off the scoreboard in the fourth quarter outscoring Piedmont 5-0.

MERRYN BUMPASS led Piedmont with two goals while both CARA CRUMP and MAGGI SPRATLIN stacked on one each of their own.
