ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The Piedmont University women's lacrosse team capped off an impressive weekend with another dominant win taking a 15-2 decision at N.C. Wesleyan Sunday. The Lady Lions moved to .500 on the season and 4-3 in league play with the win. 

The game was never in doubt as the Lady Lions led convincingly from the start. LINDLEY WARD and MERRYN BUMPASS put Piedmont on the board with goals inside the first five minutes of play. Ward and Bumpass were hot out of the gate and kept the momentum going as each added four goals in the contest. 

Piedmont led 6-0 after the first and took a 9-0 lead before the Battling Bishops added a goal late in the second quarter. The Lady Lions led 10-1 at the break after Bumpass added a man down goal inside the final two minutes before the half. 

The third quarter was quiet as Piedmont added just one goal thanks to Bumpass delivering midway through but in the fourth, Piedmont tacked on four more with N.C. Wesleyan adding one final goal. 

Piedmont doubled up N.C. Wesleyan in total shots with 24 to the Battling Bishops' 12. 

Up next, the Lady Lions host Pfeiffer Friday at 3:00 p.m.

TURNING POINT:
--The Lady Lions took a commanding lead out of the gate scoring six goals in the first quarter while holding the Battling Bishops off the board. 

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--MERRYN BUMPASS and LINDLEY WARD both contributed four goals in the contest to lead the team. 
--KELLIANNE SCHLOSSER recorded 10 saves in her 45 minutes in goal.
