Women's Lacrosse Claims 8-3 Win Over Guilford

GREENSBORO, N.C. - After trailing quickly to the Guilford Quakers, the Piedmont women's lacrosse team rallied and the offense went to work for an 8-3 victory. The win marks the second straight victory for the Lady Lions this season. 

The Quakers led 2-0 with a pair of goals inside the first 10 minutes of action but Piedmont was able to answer in the first quarter with MAGGI SPRATLIN feeding it in to EMILIE BAKER and ALY REECE

Tied at two, the Lady Lions went to work in the second quarter scoring three to lead 5-2 at the break. A total of six Lady Lions scored in the contest with JAIDEN RAMATOWSKI notching her first goal of the season. Piedmont added another pair of goals in the third before Ramatowski put a cap on the scoring in the fourth. 

Piedmont was cruising, clearly in control, outshooting the Quakers 25-9. KELLIANNE SCHLOSSER recorded four saves in the contest facing just seven shots on goal. Guilford's Zenna Carson posted 12 saves. 

MAGGI SPRATLIN recorded a point on seven of the eight goals scored with one goal and five assists, only not recording a point on Ramatowski's unassisted goal in the fourth quarter. 

Up next, the Lady Lions return home to host Hendrix at noon on Sunday at Walker Athletic Complex. 
TURNING POINT:
--After being down 2-0, the Lady Lions scored eight unanswered to lead 8-2 before a goal inside the final four minutes for the Quakers. 

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--EMILIE BAKER led Piedmont as the only Lady Lions with multiple goals scoring three times Friday. 
--MAGGI SPRATLIN led the Lady Lions with six points as she had five of Piedmont's seven assists adding a goal as well.
