DEMOREST, Ga. - In a midweek matchup against nationally ranked #4 Adrian, Piedmont struggled in a 16-8 loss. Piedmont was able to score four in the bottom of the ninth after trailing 16-4.

The Lions utilized the bullpen Wednesday with a solo contest between a pair of series on short rest. No pitcher saw the mound to face more than 13 batters or longer than 1.2 innings of work. 

The Bulldogs were on the board quick with a pair of runs in the first and were off to the races. Adrian scored two or more in seven innings of the contest. 

Piedmont managed three runs on two hits and an error in the second inning making it a close 5-3 contest, but the Bulldogs went back to work in the fourth extending the lead.

The Lions scored again in the fifth before tacking on four runs in the bottom of the ninth off the Bulldogs final pitcher Brandon Schulze.

Piedmont used a total of seven pitchers with ETHAN LAIL and JACK D'AMICO being the only two to produce a clean slate allowing no earned runs. 

Up next, Piedmont hosts Methodist for a weekend series scheduled to begin Saturday at 3 p.m.

TURNING POINT:
--The Bulldogs were able to score in all but the third and ninth innings.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--CARTER BALLSTADT was the lone Lion to have more than one hit going 2-for-4 with a double.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
--The win for the Bulldogs evens the series at 7-7 overall with all 14 contest coming at Loudermilk Field.
