LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – A strong second half from the Covenant Scots led to a 66-52 loss for Piedmont men's basketball Wednesday evening on the road. The Lions trailed by six at the break, but were unable to keep pace in the second half.Â
Piedmont trailed by nine 10Â minutes into the game, but kept it close in the first half. The sophomore class was explosive in this one with
NOAH REARDON and
JOE HELENBROOK leading the team as the top two scorers.Â
Reardon, Helenbrook and
GARRETT BEAGLE helped Piedmont back in the contest in the first half cutting the lead to 17-15. A Helenbrook 3-pointer with time running out in the first half on a fastbreak made it 36-30 at the break.Â
In the second half, the Scots used a 16-2 run to stretch the lead out even further to 61-38, but Piedmont continued to fight staying in the contest and getting the lead back into the teens.Â
The Lions scored the final eight points of the contest holding Covenant scoreless in the last three minutes.Â
TURNING POINT:
--A 16-2 run in the second half propelled the Scots to victory leading by as many as 23 in the contest.Â

NOAH REARDON led Piedmont with 12 points as one of two in double figures for the Lions.Â
--Joining Reardon in double figures was
JOE HELENBROOK with a career-high 10 points.Â

--Four Scots were in double figures led by Brady Palmer with 13 points.Â
