DEMOREST, Ga. – In the final seven minutes of the game, the Piedmont University men's basketball team was unable to keep pace with the Brevard Tornados in a 61-57 loss. The Tornados outscored Piedmont by six in the second half in what was a tightly contested game throughout.
Neither team led by more than 10 as Piedmont had a double digit lead with 12:35 to go in the first half. Three pointers were falling in the first half with the teams combining for 11 3-pointers in the first half.
The Lions connected for a layup as time expired in the first half to lead 37-35 at the break.
WILL RICHTER drained a 3-pointer as the first shot out of the break to increase the lead.
Brevard took a four point lead after a 3-pointer of their own for a 49-45 lead with just over 12 minutes remaining. The lead was never more than four points through the duration of the game.
It was tied at 57 with 1:19 to go as
JORDAN FOOTE made a layup, but that was the only basket from the floor for Piedmont in the final eight minutes.

JORDAN FOOTE led Piedmont with 11 points in the game adding nine rebounds and three blocks.

JOE HELENBROOK added a pair of monster blocks of his own.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
--Both teams connected on eight three pointers in the game but the Tornados outscored Piedmont by eight at the free throw line.
