DEMOREST, Ga. - In true Milkjug Magic fashion, the Piedmont baseball team pulled off a 7-4 victory over Berry College Saturday.
The Lions were trailing by four after the third inning when the Vikings tacked on four runs on four hits, but the Piedmont offense was ready to explode in the seventh.
Following the seventh inning stretch, Piedmont got on the board after a CONNER JELLEY sac fly drove in COLE ELLIS for the Lions' first run.
In the next at-bat, TYLER NELSON homered to left center scoring three runs to tie the contest.
The Lions would take the lead in the next at bat as CARTER BALLSTADT made it back-to-back home runs for Piedmont, leading 5-4. This marked the third time this season the Lions posted back-to-back home runs.
For the first time this season, the Lions went back-to-back-to-back as HUNTER CAIN followed suit extending the lead and causing an eruption of the Loudermilk faithful.
Piedmont tacked on one more in the frame giving Piedmont the 7-4 lead. With PEYTON IRVIN pitching through seven complete, he earned the win allowing four earned runs, six hits and struck out five batters.
KYLE YORK pitched a clean eighth inning with a pair of strikeouts against the three batters he faced while Ballstadt also faced three batters with one strikeout of his own.
Half of Piedmont's hits came in the seventh inning with five of their 10 hits in the frame.
Up next, Piedmont hosts Elizabethtown for a three game series set to begin Sunday at 6 p.m.

CARTER BALLSTADT hit the second of three-straight home runs for the Lions to put Piedmont in front and claim the lead.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:

CARTER BALLSTADT was just 1-for-5 in the contest but that one was a monster shot to claim the win.
--He also notched his second save of the season tossing the ninth inning and taking them down 1-2-3.

HUNTER CAIN was 3-for-4 in the game including the home run.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
--Runs were scored in just two half innings in the contest despite a total of 11 runs being scored.
