DECATUR, Ga. - The Piedmont University volleyball team picked up a conference win on the road Tuesday taking a 3-0 win at Agnes Scott. The Lady Lions controlled the contest throughout earning their fourth CCS win of the season.
Piedmont was able to take control of the contest early after the two were tied at 12 in the opening set. Piedmont coasted to the finish in that set with a 13-2 run to claim the set 25-14.
In the second set, Piedmont was able to gain an early advantage 10-4, but the Scotties clawed back to make it 12-10 with the Lady Lions still out in front.
The Scotties did not surrender easily, fighting to a 25-22 final in the second set. Piedmont was dominant again in the third holding the Scotties to just 17 points.
Piedmont had just 32 kills to Agnes Scott's 28, but the Lady Lions had just 13 errors to the Scotties' 27.
Up next, the Lady Lions return home to host Oglethorpe Wednesday at 7 p.m. inside Cave Arena.
