DEMOREST, Ga. – In a game that took overtime to decide, the Piedmont University men's basketball team could not keep pace with the LaGrange Panthers in a 74-71 loss in OT.

Piedmont seemed to be in control of the contest leading 62-40 with 5:30 to play, but the lead was not enough down the stretch.

LaGrange utilized a 26-4 run over the final 4:42 of regulation to force overtime. JOE HELENBROOK was nearly the hero of the night as NOAH REARDON heaved a three ball with time winding down and Helenbrook nearly had a game-winning tip-in.

In overtime, LaGrange took a six point lead and kept Piedmont off the board until Reardon banked a deep shot to make it 72-69 with 1:21 remaining. With the clock working against them, the Lions called timeout, forced a turnover and ANDREW STIMPSON made a fast-break layup to cut it to a one point game 72-71.

LaGrange's Camerin Lyons converted a pair of free throws and kept the Panthers out in front for the 74-71 victory before a last second look from three-point range did fall for the Lions.
