DEMOREST, Ga. – In the 2021 fall home opener, the Piedmont University volleyball team saw some impressive individual performances in a 3-1 loss to Brevard. Several newcomers to the roster had career-best nights including JENNA ASH leading the team with 16 kills.

Piedmont claimed the first set behind a roaring crowd with a 25-18 win, but the Tornados took control and claimed the next three sets 25-20, 25-22 and 25-20. Piedmont posted more kills than Brevard (51 to their 50) and had more total assists and digs.

The Lady Lions raced out of the gate with a .361 attack percentage in the opening set behind the roar of an emphatic crowd. JENNA ASH recorded the final kill of that set to begin her career-night.

Fellow newcomer VANESSA MANZO had a career-high 21 assists and 14 digs as she got it done across the board for the Lady Lions. Manzo split assists with BROOKLYN GUNN who also added 21, a career-high for the sophomore.
