ATLANTA, Ga. – In the final match of the weekend, the Piedmont University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to Oglethorpe Saturday. The Stormy Petrels held Piedmont to a 25-8, 25-12, 25-13 decision.
Oglethorpe controlled the contest early with a strong start taking an 11-4 lead. Piedmont was unable to keep pace as the Stormy Petrels scored five straight forcing a Piedmont timeout, and Oglethorpe again scored five straight to end the set.
Piedmont was able to keep it closer in the second and third sets, but the Stormy Petrels made it a clean sweep. Oglethorpe's Briella Kohler led all attackers with 11 kills while three Lady Lions led the way with three kills each. Piedmont totaled 15 kills in the match.
