Lions Race Past LaGrange 25-5, End Regular Season Unbeaten in Conference

LaGRANGE, Ga. - The Piedmont men's lacrosse team concluded its regular season Sunday with a 25-5 road rout over LaGrange.

The Lions have now won five consecutive games to finish off the regular season a perfect 5-0 in USA South competition. All five wins have come by double digits.

Much like the first contest played between the teams in Demorest, the Panthers were able to stay within striking distance early before Piedmont used a dominant second quarter to pull away.

Senior BRADY JENKS led the way for the Lions, tying his season high with five goals to go with two assists while MICHAEL ANDERSON pitched in with a hat trick, scoring three times. BRADY MCGUIRE also added a hat trick while junior JACOB WALKER added a season high two goals.

Ten total Lions tallied goals in the record-setting performance with IAN PARR adding four, AVERY JENKS scored twice, as did DYLAN HAMPEL and PHILLIP WATTERS. NAZHIR ELLERBE recorded his first goal of his career and JONATHAN BOAN added a goal, his third of the season. 

The Lions scored the final six goals of the contest after an 11-0 run through the middle portion of the game. ZACH CZULADA earned the win working the first three quarters in goal making four saves before giving way to JOHNNY MATRONA for the fourth quarter. Matrona allowed one goal and made one save. 

TURNING POINT:
--The Lions raced ahead with an 11-0 run including outscoring LaGrange 8-0 in the second quarter to pull away. 

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--BRADY JENKS led the Lions with five goals and two assists giving him seven points. 
--IAN PARR tied his career-high with four goals on Sunday.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
--Piedmont had 10 different goal scorers and had 33 players record stats in the contest. 
--The Lions outshot LaGrange 76 to 17.
