NEED TO KNOW:
Score: Piedmont 17, Huntingdon 3
Records: Piedmont, 6-4; Huntingdon, 5-6

DEMOREST, Ga. - For the third time this season, the Piedmont men's lacrosse team rolled past Huntingdon, this time in 17-3 fashion to advance to the USA South Championship game.

The Lions held the Hawks scoreless through the first quarter and tallied the first four goals of the contest, leading wire-to-wire to win the USA South First Round contest.

Piedmont will look to repeat as conference champions next weekend as it will take on the winner of tomorrow's first round contest between Pfeiffer and Greensboro out of the USA South East Division.

Coming into the game with two assists on the season, senior BRADY JENKS doubled that number in Friday night's game alone, tallying four to go with a goal. Younger brother AVERY JENKS delivered his eighth hat trick of the season, scoring three times and adding an assist. CHASE GOFF also notched a hat trick, scoring three goals while DYLAN HAMPEL and JONATHAN BOAN added two apiece in the 14-goal rout.

On the defensive end, All-USA South First Team selection CHRIS PANNENBACKER took 14-of-20 faceoffs while JACOB KIPP was a perfect 3-for-3. USA South Defensive Player of the Year ZACH CZULADA was excellent in goal once again, making seven saves and allowing just three goals while also adding his first assist of the season, finding Boan for his second goal of the contest.

The Piedmont defense was stifling Friday night as it held Huntingdon off the scoreboard until 9:17 left in the second quarter. After the Hawks scored their first goal to make it a 4-1 game, the Lions reeled off four in a row to take an 8-1 advantage to halftime.

Coming out of the break, the onslaught continued as Piedmont tallied the first three to build a 10-goal advantage at 11-1 before Huntingdon added its second.

Piedmont continued to pour it on in the final period, adding six more goals while holding the Hawks to just one, making the final 17-3, nearly identical to its 16-3 over the Hawks in Demorest on April 10.

TURNING POINT:
- Piedmont jumped out to a fast start, scoring four times before the Hawks could crack the scoreboard.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- BRADY JENKS shared the wealth on Friday, delivering a career-best four assists in the win.
- CHASE GOFF and AVERY JENKS each delivered hat tricks, scoring three times each.
- ZACH CZULADA made seven saves and dished out his first assist of the season.

NEWS AND NOTES:
- With the win, Piedmont has now outscored USA South opponents by over 100 goals in just six games, owning a 124-21 goal differential.
