Fransen Eclipses 200 Career Points in 11-6 Win at Pfeiffer

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Piedmont women's lacrosse team remains undefeated in conference play following an 11-6 win at Pfeiffer Saturday. Senior EMMA FRANSEN eclipsed 200 career points in the contest joining exclusive company as only the fourth player in program history to achieve that mark. 

The Falcons jumped out to a lead early scoring the first two goals of the contest before Piedmont came alive. The Lady Lions' first goal came nearly 12 minutes into the contest as Fransen was first on the board for Piedmont. She added two straight to tie up the contest. 

AISLYNN KIMBRO scored with 15:27 on the clock in a man up opportunity to give Piedmont the lead. Kimbro would score twice more before the break with Fransen adding one more. Piedmont led 6-3 at the break. 

Pfeiffer scored first out of halftime to cut the lead to two, but the Lady Lions were right back to work scoring another three straight. Kimbro accounted for six goals while Fransen added the remaining five for Piedmont. Fransen also added a pair of assists. 

KELLIANNE SCHLOSSER worked all 60 minutes in goal recording six saves while allowing six goals. 

Up next, the Lady Lions will host Brevard for senior day Sunday at 4 p.m. at Walker Athletic Complex. 

TURNING POINT:
--After trailing by two to open the contest, Piedmont reeled off six straight to claim the lead and never trailed in the contest again. 

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--EMMA FRANSEN eclipsed 200 career points in the contest with 71 points coming just this season.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
--AISLYNN KIMBRO led the team with six goals as Piedmont had just two goal scorers.
