MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – The Piedmont volleyball team lost a pair of matches in straight sets on the road Thursday at Huntingdon. 

Match 1, Huntingdon 3, Piedmont 0

Huntingdon won the first and third sets of the conference match 25-12 while Piedmont was able to battle to a 25-20 loss in the second set. Piedmont saw it's highest total of kills in a set in that second set with eight total. 

JACLYN SAMPSON led Piedmont with eight kills in the match while AUBREE YANCEY contributed four. JENNIFER HERRERA added a team-high 12 assists while JESSICA BEIL led the team with 14 digs. 

Match 2: Huntingdon 3, Piedmont 1

The Lady Lions struggled early in the second match as the Hawks took the first two sets 25-11, but in the third set, Piedmont challenged all the way to the end with a 25-23 result. 

Piedmont tallied just 13 kills in the match while the Hawks added 46. JESSICA BEIL led Piedmont with nine digs while BROOKLYN GUNN (7) and JENNIFER HERRERA (6) split all 13 assists. 

Up next, Piedmont hosts Maryville on Saturday, April 10 at 3:30 p.m.
