MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Piedmont men's lacrosse team cruised past Huntingdon for a 22-2 road win on Friday night in Montgomery, Alabama.

The Lions scored the first 12 goals of the contest and held the Hawks to just one first half goal on their way to a 2-0 start to the conference slate. Through two USA South contests this season, Piedmont holds a 48-4 goal differential.

Three Piedmont players tallied hat tricks on the evening as AVERY JENKS, CHASE GOFF and CONNOR ROGERS scored three times each. Already the team leader in assists for the season, Goff added two more while Rogers did the same in the win.

The game was scoreless for almost nine minutes before AVERY JENKS broke the 0-0 tie with his first goal of the contest. From there, the floodgates opened as PC added two more in the next minute and held a 5-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter began with a strike from a pair of freshmen as BRADY MCGUIRE scored off a feed from IAN PARR to make the tally 6-0. The onslaught continued from there for Piedmont as it made the score 12-0 before Huntingdon found the back of the net for a 12-1 halftime deficit.

Piedmont continued its domination throughout the second half, shutting out the Hawks through the entirety of the third quarter while adding six goals of its own.

With the outcome well in hand, the Lions were able to add four more goals in the final period to make the final margin 22-2.

The Lions held a 71-18 advantage in shots while also holding a 52-19 edge in ground balls.
