ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – For the third straight game, Piedmont College's women's lacrosse team dominated from start to finish and cruised to a 16-1 win over North Carolina Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon.

The Lions have now won three straight games with an average margin of victory of 17.3 goals.

North Carolina Wesleyan was only able to suit up 10 players, including a goalkeeper, which allowed Piedmont to play up a player for the entirety of the game.

Piedmont jumped on the Battling Bishops right from the start with a goal by senior EMMA FRANSEN in the first minute and half of action. The Lions scored twice before the Battling Bishops got their lone goal of the game 10 minutes into the contest.

After the N.C. Wesleyan goal from Blaire Harney, the Lions rattled off 15 more goals to extend their winning streak to three games.

SHELBY MINOR led the way with five goals, connecting on all but two of her seven shots while freshman goalkeeper Kellianna Schlosser made five saves on the day.

TURNING POINT:
- Piedmont had the advantage from the opening draw control thanks to being a man up on N.C. Wesleyan and never let the short-handed Battling Bishops get going.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- SHELBY MINOR led the team with five goals to elevate her season total to 25.
- EMMA FRANSEN was second on the team with four goals while AISLYNN KIMBRO added three.
- CARA CRUMP, in just her third game since joining the team after basketball season, scored her first career goal.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Piedmont allowed just one free position shot, which was unsuccessful, for N.C. Wesleyan in the contest and outshot the Battling Bishops 37-6.

UP NEXT:
- Piedmont gets back to conference action next Sunday, March 28, with a road contests with Huntingdon College at 2:00 p.m. ET. The Lions beat the Hawks 19-6 at Walker Athletic Complex in the season's first meeting on March 7.
