BREVARD, N.C. – Piedmont College's women's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 in USA South conference play on Saturday afternoon with a dominating 19-3 road win over Brevard.

It's the second straight lopsided victory for the Lions after they took down the University of Dallas 22-1 last Sunday in Irving, Texas.

Piedmont started the scoring early with a goal from sophomore AISLYNN KIMBRO just over a minute and a half into the game. Another goal just a couple minutes later from sophomore LINDLEY WARD gave Piedmont a 2-0 lead before the Tornados netted their first of three goals and the first of two from Autumn Kraemer.

Kraemer's goal kept it close for the first 10 minutes of the contest, but the Lions rattled off five straight and ended the half on an 8-1 run to take a sizeable 10-2 lead into halftime.

Piedmont dominated the second half to maintain its lead and didn't surrender a Brevard goal until the final minute of the game to close out the 19-3 win.

Kimbro and senior EMMA FRANSEN each totaled six goals in the game. The two have gone back-and-forth atop the team leaderboard all season long, and that trend continued on Saturday. With their six goals each in the game, Fransen now leads Kimbro 30-25 in that category.

TURNING POINT:
- Piedmont's 5-0 run after Kraemer's early goal featured goals from Kimbro (3) and Fransen (2) and jumpstarted the Lions' offense en route to the victory.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- EMMA FRANSEN and AISLYNN KIMBRO scored six goals apiece to lead the team. Fransen added three assists while Kimbro added one.
- SHELBY MINOR was close behind the two leaders with five goals and one assist.
- MACEY HIGGINS totaled two assists and added one goal to her line.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Piedmont corralled more ground balls (27-14) and secured more draw controls (15-8) than the Tornados. The Lions also limited Brevard to just 7-for-20 on clear attempts.

UP NEXT:
- Piedmont is back in action tomorrow, Sunday, March 21, with a nonconference contest at North Carolina Wesleyan College at 12:00 p.m.
