Men's Lacrosse Rolls Past Brevard for 26-2 Senior Day Win

DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont men's lacrosse team cruised to a dominant 26-2 win on Saturday afternoon as it opened conference play against Brevard.

The Lions spread the wealth as 11 different players scored in the contest with four securing hat tricks.

As one of eight seniors honored prior to the contest, attackman BRADY JENKS led all players with five goals. Fellow senior DYLAN HAMPEL pitched in with three goals while freshmen IAN PARR (4 goals) and BRADY MCGUIRE (3 goals) tallied season highs in goals scored.

Piedmont jumped out to an early lead scoring the first five goals of the contest and taking an 8-1 lead after the first 15 minutes of action. 

The Lions continued the onslaught throughout the second quarter, not allowing the Tornados a single goal while increasing their lead to 20-1 going to the break.

The second half was more of the same as the Lions held Brevard to just one more goal while adding six themselves for the 26-2 final score.

Face-off specialist CHRIS PANNENBACKER dominated all day, winning 14 of the 16 he took while collecting a team-best nine ground balls.

Senior goalkeeper ZACH CZULADA earned the win in goal, making three saves while allowing just one goal and playing just the first half.

Prior to the contest, Piedmont seniors RILEY GRAHAM, CHASE GOFF, BRADY JENKS, DYLAN HAMPEL, BEN HANFLAND, ZACH JONES, JASON GREXA and Czulada were honored for their contributions to the program.

Up next, the Lions will travel to Huntingdon to continue conference play this Friday, March 26 at 7 p.m.

TURNING POINT:
- Piedmont led wire-to-wire, scoring the first five goals of the game and holding the Tornados scoreless the entirety of the second quarter in the runaway win.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- On his senior day, BRADY JENKS tallied a season-best five goals.
- Fellow senior DYLAN HAMPEL added a career-high three goals.
- Junior AVERY JENKS led the Lions in points (7) and assists (5).
- Sophomore CHRIS PANNENBACKER went 14-of-16 on faceoffs and tallied a game-high nine ground balls.
- Freshman IAN PARR tallied his first career goal in the contest and was second on the team finishing with four.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Piedmont held a 67-29 edge in ground balls and led 42-10 in shots on goal.
