DANVILLE, Ky. – Piedmont College's women's lacrosse team suffered a lopsided loss on the road Saturday afternoon as the Lady Lions fell to the Centre Colonels 20-5 in Danville, Kentucky.
The Colonels improved their record to 2-1 on the season and are averaging 15.6 goals per game in their three contests. Mary Katherine Hardy led the way for Centre with five goals and two assists on the day while going 2-2 on free position shots.

EMMA FRANSEN (2), senior
MACEY HIGGINS, and junior
AISLYNN KIMBRO in the game as they each added to their season totals.
Four of Piedmont's five goals came in the second half of play, while Higgins' lone goal was scored right off the opening draw control as she netted her third goal of the season less than 45 seconds into the game.
Centre would go on to score 15 straight goals and lead 13-1 at the break. Fransen's first goal with 20 minutes to play broke the streak.
Including Saturday's stats, Fransen and Kimbro are now tied for the team lead with eight goals apiece.
TURNING POINT:
- Centre's offensive firepower was too much to handle for the Piedmont as the Colonels never looked back during their 15-0 run.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Fransen scored two goals to bring her season total to eight.
- Kimbro's season total is also at eight after her lone goal today.
- Freshman keeper
KELLIANNE SCHLOSSER added 13 saves to her season total.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Four of Piedmont's five goals came on free position shots as both teams were 4-4 on their FPS attempts.
- The Lady Lions coughed up 25 turnovers but forced 19 turnovers from the Colonels to keep the margin close.

- Piedmont' next two games will be played on home turf at the Walker Athletic Complex, starting with a 7:00 p.m. game on Tuesday, March 2 vs Oglethorpe.
