ROME, Ga. - The Piedmont men's tennis team battled Division II Shorter on Friday morning in Rome, falling 6-1.
Sophomore
PATRICK DEMPSEY continued his superb play of late, rolling to yet another win at No. 6 singles.
Playing Division II rules, the Lions were unable to take a doubles line and only won at No. 6 singles in the loss.
The match against Shorter marks the third Division II opponent Piedmont has faced in its difficult opening stretch of the schedule.
Dempsey's victory improves him to 5-1 on the season. All five of his wins have come at the No. 6 spot in the lineup.
Up next, the Lions will take on Methodist on the road in nonconference action. The match is scheduled for 11 a.m. next Sunday, March 7.
