MONTGOMERY, Ala. – In the second-straight comeback victory for the Lions, the Piedmont men's basketball team claimed a 74-69 win over Huntingdon in overtime Saturday. The win moved the Lions to 8-6 overall and 5-3 in USA South play this season.

In similar fashion to Friday's contest, the Lions were in a tight battle in the first half heading into the break down 32-30. Piedmont led 32-30 at halftime in Friday's contest.

Huntingdon built a five point lead over the early going in the second half, but the Lions continued to fight and claimed the lead 42-39 on a RYAN JOLLY 3-pointer. The Lions did not surrender the lead until under 10:00 to play when the Hawks took a 49-48 advantage.

It remained tight over the final minutes as it was never more than a three point game until JUSTIN QUICK made a layup with 0:50 on the clock to give Piedmont a 62-57 lead. The lead was not enough over the final minute as Huntingdon managed to tie the game on a jumper with 0:14 to play forcing OT.

In overtime, it wasn't shots from the floor that kept Piedmont in it but shots from the free throw line. The Lions scored 12 points in overtime with 10 of those coming from the charity stripe.

TURNING POINT:
--In overtime, it was free throws that proved to be the difference as Piedmont closed out the game 10-of-12 in OT at the charity stripe. All but one basket came from the free throw line in overtime.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--RYAN JOLLY and JORDAN FOOTE both scored 20 or more points with Foote notching a double-double adding 10 rebounds.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
--This marks the first time Piedmont has won back-to-back games against Huntingdon since the 2017-18 season and the first time ever to win two straight at Huntingdon.
