DEMOREST, Ga. – Thanks to a dominant second half performance, the Piedmont University men's basketball team moved to 2-0 with an 80-62 win over Sewanee Monday evening.
JORDAN FOOTE led the team with 19 points and eight rebounds.
It was a true team effort as Piedmont had four players in double figures with
EVAN EASTON adding a career-high 16 points.
ORRY CLEMENTS-OWENS scored 14 as did
WILL RICHTER.
The Lions and Tigers were tied at 34 at the break as Sewanee was cruising behind the work of Colin Kahl who posted 17 points in the first half. Piedmont's defense held Sewanee's best weapon to just four points in the second half.
Piedmont trailed by six early in the contest, but held the lead throughout the second half. Out of the break,
ORRY CLEMENTS-OWENS drained a 3-pointer and added another just minutes later as the Lions scored eight points in the opening two minutes. Clements-Owens finished the game 4-of-5 from behind the arc.
WILL RICHTER was hot in the second half with all 14 of his points off the bench as he contributed a pair of 3-pointers including one as the shot clock expired with 4:15 on the clock.
RYAN JOLLY was kept quiet Monday after a USA South Player of the Week performance against Bob Jones as he added six points and eight rebounds.
TURNING POINT:
--Piedmont was electric out of the gate in the second half outscoring Sewanee 8-2 in the first two minutes of the second half.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:

JORDAN FOOTE posted 19 points to lead Piedmont while also securing eight rebounds and snagging four steals.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
--Piedmont never trailed in the second half of the contest outscoring Sewanee 46-28.
