DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont men's tennis team fell, 7-2,  to Berry in its home opener on Sunday afternoon at the Burgen Tennis Courts.
 
The Lions (1-3) were able to take a pair of singles lines, but the Vikings (1-1) took all three hard-fought doubles matches and won fou4 of the six singles matches in straight sets to hand Piedmont its third consecutive loss.
 
Sophomore HOUSTON MEDLOCK won his first match of the spring in dominating fashion at No. 3 singles (6-4, 6-0) while freshman MATT WILHELM won, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6 to close the match on a positive note for PC.
 
JARRETT GRAY and PATRICK DEMPSEY each split their first two sets before falling in the third.
 
Up next, the Lions will be off for a week before welcoming Pfeiffer to the Burgen Tennis Courts next Sunday, March 1 at 1 p.m.
