DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont women's lacrosse team lost 14-5 to Sewanee on Saturday afternoon at the Walker Athletic Complex.
Sewanee (3-0) scored two goals in the opening minute and led 11-0 at halftime.
The Tigers opened the second half with two goals before
MACEY HIGGINS put Piedmont (1-2) on the board with a free position goal at 18:18 in the second half.
Sewanee answered just under four minutes later to score its final goal of the game. Piedmont then used a four-goal run to bring the game within nine goals.
EMMA FRANSEN scored an unassisted goal at 10:23 before
ROWAN BUMPASS reeled off three straight in the final 9:18.
CASSIDY HEFLIN and Fransen assisted on the final two goals, respectively.
ANNA WATSON had six ground balls and four caused turnovers. Heflin added four ground balls and four draw controls.
HUNTER PARRETT had 11 saves.
