DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont women's basketball team is set to host a USA South Quarterfinal matchup with Averett on Saturday at 2 p.m. inside Cave Arena.
 
The Lady Lions finished the USA South regular season at 13-3, earning the No. 2 seed in the West Division.
 
The Cougars finished 11-5 in conference play, good enough for the No. 3 seed in the East Division, where they defeated No. 6 seed Meredith, 68-56, on Wednesday night in a first-round matchup.
 
Piedmont and Averett faced off early in the season in nonconference action in Danville as the Lady Lions came away with a 68-56 victory on Nov. 17. NAKIYAH WASHINGTON scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while AMARI PRICE added 11 points, five rebounds and five assists.

- The game will be free admission for students, faculty and staff who present a Piedmont ID.
- For other fans, adult tickets are $8 and tickets for children/seniors are $3.
 
CATCHING UP WITH THE LADY LIONS:
- Piedmont found itself with an 8-8 record after a 70-61 home loss to Berea on Jan. 11. However, from there, the Lady Lions have reeled off nine consecutive victories to finish the regular season at 17-8 overall and 13-3 in the USA South.
- PC has won six straight games by double digits.
- In Piedmont's 59-49 road win over LaGrange on Jan. 14, head coach Jamie Purdy picked up her 300th collegiate victory.
- The USA South released its All-Conference awards on Thursday as AMARI PRICE earned All-USA South First Team and All-USA South West Division First Team honors while freshman forward NAKIYAH WASHINGTON was named All-USA South West Division Second Team.
