Jenks Sets Piedmont Goal Record In Win Over BSC

DEMOREST, Ga. – BRADY JENKS scored six goals en route to setting the Piedmont career goal scoring record in a 15-11 win over Birmingham-Southern.
 
Jenks set the record on his fourth goal, occurring at 8:12 in the second quarter. The senior passed Nick Green (2012-15) who finished his career with 102 goals. Jenks now has 105 goals for his career.
 
On a cold and wet Thursday night, the Lions (2-1) jumped out to a 7-3 first quarter lead and never looked backed. With the win, Piedmont won its first matchup against the Panthers (2-2) in program history.
 
The Lions led 11-4 at halftime, but BSC stuck around and made it a four-goal game with 9:29 left in the fourth quarter. JEREMY KOHN scored his second goal of the game with just under eight minutes to play.
 
BSC scored at 6:06, but the Lions held strong and closed out the game for their second win of the season.
 
Kohn, Jenks and MICHAEL ANDERSON scored the game's opening goals to put Piedmont ahead 3-0 at 10:55.
 
Both teams would trade goals, but the Lions used a 2-0 run to close out the first quarter.
 
It was a Jenks party in the second quarter as B. Jenks scored three times while younger brother AVERY JENKS added a goal to help Piedmont lead 11-4 at the half.
 
BSC kept things interesting, but the Lions prevailed for the win.
 
ZACH CZULADA had 13 stops and six ground balls. Sophomore defender BENJAMIN HANFLAND picked up four ground balls and had four caused turnovers.
 
CHRIS PANNENBACKER went 13-of-25 at the faceoff dot and scooped up seven ground balls.

-- Piedmont jumped out to a 7-3 lead after the first quarter and never trailed in the game.
