MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The Piedmont College men's basketball team dominated the second half of play against Maryville Tuesday for a 78-53 win on the road. The Lions led by four at the break and nearly doubled up the Scots in the second half.

It took over two minutes to break the scoreless tie to begin the game as ANDREW STIMPSON struck first connecting from deep for the opening basket of the game. In quick succession, the Scots were able to hit a fastbreak 3-pointer of their own, but despite the quick turnaround, the two teams were slow offensively in the first half.

The score was tied at five for over three minutes as neither team could score until the Scots' Felix Uadiale dunked to make it 7-5. Piedmont built its largest lead of the first half at 17-11 with 7:00 to go till the half.

The Scots managed to claw back and take the lead in the first half but Piedmont made a run to hold a 28-24 lead at the break.

Piedmont built an 11 point lead out of the break, holding the Scots scoreless over the opening three minutes. The Lions went on a 21-3 run to open the second half leading 49-27 with 12:50 to go.

There was no coming back from that deficit as Piedmont never led by less than 19 from that point on in the contest. JUSTIN QUICK led Piedmont with 17 points as one of four Lions in double figures.
