LaGRANGE, Ga. – The Piedmont College men's basketball team won its fifth straight game on Tuesday with a crucial road win over LaGrange College 80-75.

The Lions (12-9, 7-7 USA South) held on late in the contest thanks to shooting 81% from the free throw line including banking 10-of-12 inside the final 1:22.

EVAN EASTON tied a career-high with 14 points scoring 10 in the second half to help lead the Lions to victory. MILES RILEY also added 14 points going 6-of-8 from the line.

Piedmont built a quick lead after an ANDREW STIMPSON deep ball made it 9-2 in the opening minutes, but the Panthers used a run of their own to take the lead on a 3-pointer 12-11. It was a tight battle throughout the first half with the Panthers taking a one point lead into the break 32-31.

A JUSTIN QUICK 3-pointer put Piedmont up 38-36, but again, it remained less than a four point game until Easton converted an and-one opportunity to put the Lions ahead 50-45. Piedmont built a nine point lead 64-55, but the Panthers worked tirelessly to claw back.

A 3-pointer by Julian Cameron made it 70-68 and the Panthers cut it to one with a free throw with 1:42 remaining. In the final 1:22, the Lions were able to execute at the line going 10-for-12 to maintain the lead and hold on for victory.
