DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Piedmont men's tennis team took part in the UNG Fall Invitational this past Sunday in Dahlonega, Georgia.
Over the course of the day, the Lions took on opponents from Division II North Georgia and Emmanuel.
Eight Lions made their competitive collegiate debuts (Bryce Van Order,
SILAS SANDLES,
ALEC SHERMER,
JACKSON TRAYLOR,
LEONARDO GALARZA,
KODY DILLS,
LAKEN FERRELL and
MICHAEL PORCELLI.
The event was highlighted by a pair of singles victories over Emmanuel.
Newcomer Jackson Taylor prevailed in a third set super breaker, 5-7, 6-4, 10-6 over Munyaradzi Musanhu while freshman
MATT WILHELM picked up from his outstanding spring season and dominated with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Hank Terrell.
This marks the only event in which the Lions will compete in this fall.
