BEREA, Ky. – In a game that came down-to-the-wire, JUSTIN QUICK's layup with three seconds remaining proved to be the difference in a 74-72 men's basketball win against Berea. It was a tight contest throughout as neither team led by more than five in the second half. Piedmont took a 43-41 lead into the break as ORRY CLEMENTS-OWENS banked a 3-pointer with three seconds remaining.

Clements-Owens was off to a hot start connecting on the opening shot of the game for his first of four 3-pointers adding 12 points Saturday.

The Lions built a quick early lead in the contest thanks to a couple deep balls, but the Mountaineers hit a few from 3-point range too to cut into the gap. Neither team led by more than one possession for over seven minutes as it was a back-and-forth battle.

Piedmont built a six point lead with under 10:00 to go till the half, but the Mountaineers fought back to claim the lead again. Berea made a layup with 10 seconds left to lead by one 41-40, but Clements-Owens charged up the court and drained a 3-pointer on the fast break with 0:03 to go.

The second half was more of the same, but the Lions were able to claim the victory for their second win in a row.
