GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Piedmont College men's basketball team dropped a conference contest on the road Saturday to Greensboro College 94-85.
LOGAN CRANFORD scored a career-high 22 points off the bench to lead Piedmont, but it was not enough to keep pace with the Pride.
Piedmont led by six early in the contest but the Pride came back to tie the contest at 13-13 with 12:16 to play in the first half. From that point on, Greensboro continued to build their lead in the first half to lead by 43-32 at the break.
Greensboro controlled the second half leading by as many as 18 points, but the Lions clawed back to keep the deficit to single digits 94-85.
The Pride had a pair of players crest the 20+ point mark with Eric Peaks, Jr. leading all scorers with 25 points. The Lions had four players in double-figures led by Cranford's 22 while
ORRY CLEMENTS-OWENS added 18 and both
JORDAN FOOTE and
EVAN EASTON added 12.
Up next, the Lions head to Brevard Tuesday, January 21 to face the Tornados at 7:30 p.m.

--Greensboro used a 10-0 run in the first half to claim the lead and never trailed after the opening eight minutes.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
--Piedmont banked 17 free throws but the Pride netted 26 points from the charity stripe, which amounted to the difference in the game.
