DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College men's basketball team was unable to overcome a 17-point halftime deficit and fell, 74-63, at home to Maryville on Wednesday night at Cave Arena.

The loss marks PC's fourth straight after beginning its five game homestand with an 85-74 victory over N.C. Wesleyan on Jan. 4.

JORDAN FOOTE led the Lions (7-8, 2-6 USA South) with 16 points and 11 rebounds, his sixth double-double of the season. He was joined in double figures by
MILES RILEY, who poured in 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting to go with six rebounds and four assists.

JUSTIN QUICK tacked on 11 points, knocking down two three-pointers.

The Scots (3-11, 2-5 USA South) were on fire from deep in the first half, connecting on 8-of-15 from long range. Maryville led the entire half but used a 7-0 run to build a double-digit lead with 12:21 left in the half.

After the Lions cut their deficit to 30-21, Maryville went on a 14-6 run over the final 5:01 of the first half to take a commanding lead into the locker room.

Piedmont raced out of halftime and was able to work its way to just a 57-54 deficit after an and-one from Riley with 9:37 left.
Â
However, the Lions never cut it closer than three as the Scots sealed the game at the free throw line in the final minutes to escape with the 74-63 road victory.

Up next, the Lions will head to Greensboro to battle the Pride on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m.

TURNING POINT:
- After
WILL RICHTER's three-pointer cut PC's deficit to 63-59, the Scots outsored the Lions, 11-4, over the final 6:41 of the contest.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:

JORDAN FOOTE delivered his team-leading sixth double-double of the campaign, dropping 16 points to go with 11 rebounds.

MILES RILEY added 15 points while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out four assists.
