MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Piedmont College men's soccer team fell, 4-3, in the sixth minute of overtime at Berry on Tuesday night.

The Lions (1-1) rallied from a two-goal deficit in the first half before falling behind once again just over 40 seconds later. Piedmont responded by tying the game once again on
MALAMIN JALLOW's first collegiate goal, but the Vikings (2-0) were able to net the game-winner in the 96th minute to hand PC its first loss.

The Vikings wasted no time jumping ahead early, as Jake Williamson found the back of the net in just the third minute. Then, just over 10 minutes later, Berry added a second goal to take a commanding 2-0 lead.

Piedmont roared back midway through the first half, cutting its deficit in half on
NICK POPE's first goal of the season, off an assist from
JOSE LINARES.

Taking advantage of the momentum, Linares tied the score at 2-2 with an unassisted goal in the 29th minute. However, the Vikings immediately retook the lead 44 seconds later.

The Vikings held the lead until the 81st minute when Jallow tied the score off assists from Linares and
BRANDON RAMOS.
Â
Playing its first overtime game of the season, the Lions surrendered the game-winner, Williamson's second of the contest, six minutes into overtime.

Up next, the Lions open USA South competition with a road game against Pfeiffer this Saturday, Sept. 14 at 2 p.m.
