With the win, the Lions moved into a tie for third with Methodist in the USA South standings. Huntingdon sits atop while Pfeiffer is second. Despite being in second, the Falcons are ineligible for post-season play.

JACOB WITTENBERG would give Piedmont (6-7, 3-2) its final lead with 7:45 left in the first quarter before scoring the first goal in the second to put PC ahead 3-1.

Greensboro answered back at 12:25, but Jenks found the back of the net once again to extend the lead back to two.

After a Pride goal, JONAH PRESTON scored at 4:20 to close the half and give Piedmont a 5-3 lead at halftime.

The third quarter was a defensive battle as each team failed to score until the 1:45 mark. JEREMY KOHN found Jenks to put the Lions ahead 6-3, but Greensboro stuck around with a goal with eight seconds remaining.

Kohn added a goal early in the fourth and the Lions held strong for the rest of the quarter before the Pride scored with just over two minutes left.

Greensboro would win the ensuing faceoff and promptly called a timeout to setup its offense. The Pride would manage to get one shot off, but ZACH CZULADA made the save while JONATHAN BOAN scooped up the ground ball to give Piedmont a chance to close out the game.

After a Piedmont timeout, JOSH COBBINA managed to race around the box before scoring on an empty net to put Piedmont ahead 8-5 with 1:02 remaining.

The Lions were able to close out the game after a Greensboro turnover with 24 seconds left to play.
