HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. – The Piedmont men's lacrosse team tied a school record for goals in a game as the Lions rolled William Peace 24-11 in USA South Athletic Conference play on Saturday.
The 24 goals were the most by Piedmont men's lacrosse team since 2012. The Lions defeated Alma 24-2.
AVERY JENKS totaled a career-high eight points off four goals and four assists while four other Lions (7-7, 4-2) scored four goals. The freshman also scooped up seven ground balls.

JOSH COBBINA (4,0) and
CHASE GOFF (2,2) added four or more points in the blowout.
LAMONT NESBITT went 23-for-31 on faceoffs and picked up eight ground balls.
Piedmont jumped out to a 3-0 lead with goals from A. Jenks, Goff and Kohn before William Peace (5-9, 2-3) scored at the 5:50 mark in the first quarter.
A. Jenks extended the lead before B. Jenks scored a buzzer-beater goal with an assist from
JASON GREXA to hand Piedmont a 5-1 lead after the first.
The Pacers added a goal to start the second quarter, but
JONATHAN BOAN scored before the Lions added two man-up goals to pull ahead 8-2. William Peace stopped the scoring streak, but the Lions answered with two goals, both assisted by
MASON GRAVES, to lead 10-3 with 9:14 left to play in the first half.
The Pacers used a 3-0 run to pull within four goals, but Cobbina scored with less than two minutes to play in the half to give Piedmont an 11-6 lead at halftime.
After the break, the Pacers scored 40 seconds into the third quarter to make the score 11-7, but Piedmont broke the game open and closed the quarter with a 5-0 run.
Piedmont then scored six unanswered goals to lead 22-7 with 8:17 left to play in the game.
William Peace would outscore the Lions 4-2 in the final eight minutes, but Piedmont's lead was too much to handle.
ZACH CZULADA played the first 51:43 in goal and had 11 saves with seven goals allowed.
RYAN MORGAN and
PARKER CHEATHAM combined to close out the game in cage in the win. Czulada leads the conference in saves and save percentage.
